D&G Arts

I don't know what happened. We just decided to branch out and totally do our own thing. Gary and I had been doing music together since high school marching band. (until I quit) and continued working and listening to music together for many years. We hung out together and jammed in an peoples garages and living rooms. We also played for little backyard BBQ's. He'd play his guitar and I'd play drums and we would both sing through his fender bandmaster. I must say people were amazed. (some of them anyway).

We hooked up with other players during this time such as Rodney S. and Danny H. Some of those early bands were as follows:

  • Highway Gypsy's - 3 peace cover band we played a gig at the fair that I always considered one of my favorites of all time!
  • Glass Onion - 3 piece all Beatles cover band. I have a little of this on tape it's pretty entertaining.
  • Dark Horse - A band we dreamed up while high in high school but never actually played.

Gary and I continued to hang out and play beatles songs in my little apartment and were always just enjoying life. Then one day we decided to rent a house together and D&G was born.

All of our friends, relatives and acquaintances joined in our little gang of misfits and these songs are the result.

I'd like to say also that there is actually lots more that came from this magical period. Some good, some bad. I have decided to include only things that are somewhat clean and did not assassinate anybody's character too much. I know that music today has really become over the top as far as moral limits. Just remember folks this was 1986-- We did it first!
